The Derby Family Arts Network
Derby has a great selection of welcoming and accessible organisations all within walking distance from Derby City Centre. Together we aim to offer something for everyone with dedicated activities, accessible venues and many free events. We have all pledged to the Family Arts Standards and commit to providing a rich variety of cultural events which can be enjoyed by all members of the family. We value all families and want to continue to provide good family experiences.

Network Members
Derby’s Family Arts Network is a group of organisations from across Derby and includes QUAD, Derby Theatre, Derby Museums, Derby LIVE, Déda, Baby People, Artcore and Sinfonia Viva. The network has been together for nearly three years with the aim of raising awareness of the rich variety of cultural events on offer across the city. We work together to provide creative activities and events from dance, music, theatre, visual arts, digital and film and story-telling.
Network Meetings
The Derby Arts Network meet regularly to discuss future events, collaborations and best practises regarding hosting and promoting family-friendly activities. We value all families and work as a group to measure successes with the aim of increasing growth within family participation in Derby. We also work on outreach opportunities and discuss and share ideas on how to build loyalty with family audiences and how to help share the wider family arts offering across the city.
Shared Meetings
To raise awareness and direct families to events, we have shared marketing resources for all members to use including roller-banners, posters and leaflets. The Derby network also has a growing Instagram and Facebook page used to promote and share events.
Family Arts Festival
The Derby Family Arts Festival takes place during October half-term week. The festival focusses on increasing the range of high-quality creative events available to families across Derby city and is a wonderful opportunity for members of the network to collaborate. Events cover a wide range of activities including film, art, music and theatre with many of the events being free to take part in.
