At Family Arts Campaign, much of our work is thinking about ways to encourage opportunities and experiences for young children, however, we are keen to develop our work to think of the needs of older parents, grandparents and carers.
In 2015, we developed the Age-Friendly Standards as a way of encouraging the cultural sector to consider the needs of older participants. We have 500 organisations now signed up to the Age-Friendly Standards and expertise in age-friendly practice will help us to ensure we are thinking about the broad intergenerational needs of families, as well as consider specific age-friendly provision required by the sector.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience of working in age-friendly contexts, with an understanding of emerging ideas and practice for older participants.
- Understanding of intergenerational work, who can guide our thinking and work to supporting the cultural sector to accommodate needs of all ages.
Expertise in accessibility for families with additional needs
- We are looking for a board member to help us strengthen our support for neurodiverse families and families with additional needs, ensuring our work removes barriers and enables full participation.

- Skills and experience in either developing or running activities with and for neurodiverse children and/or families.
- Understanding of latest emerging practice in supporting children and families with additional needs.
