Fantastic for Families is evolving:
New Directory will replace listings feature

We’re sharing an important update for Fantastic for Families users. Here’s what’s changing and how we can support you…

New Directory

Celebrating cultural providers that are Fantastic for Families

In September 2022, Fantastic for Families will transform from an event listings site into an online directory of family and age-friendly venues, companies, organisations, artists and producers. The directory will be a platform for those who deliver brilliant family arts activities across the UK, featuring cultural providers who have committed to the Family Arts Standards and Age-Friendly Standards.

The directory will enable families and professionals to search by location and art-form, and will welcome venues, companies, artists/producers and more. A space for families and freelancers to find local cultural providers who are welcoming, inclusive and accessible.

The event listings will no longer be on the website from September 2022, however you can still add events up until 1 August 2022.

UPDATE: the Fantastic for Families Directory is now live here, you can find out how to join the directory here.

Awards Continue

We’ll also be continuing to showcase the brilliant Family Arts and Age-Friendly work happening across the UK with our annual Fantastic for Families Awards.

2022 Award Winners will be announced in November!

Answering Your Questions

Should I list my summer events on Fantastic for Families current site?

YES! We’re still promoting fantastic events to families all summer, be a part of our campaign and add your events now. Make sure you add your events by 1 August as we won’t be accepting any new entries after this.

How can I get my organisation featured in the Fantastic for Families Directory?

The Directory will feature all organisations signed up to the Family Arts Standards and/or Age-Friendly Standards (if you’re not signed up but ready to commit to providing a fantastic experience for families or older audiences, do sign up). If we need any additional information from you that we don’t have – we’ll be in touch, so look out for our emails.

Why will you no longer be offering an event listing website?

It’s important to us at the Campaign that we support the arts and cultural sector in the most meaningful way possible. By shifting our focus, we can do more to help you provide quality experiences, develop your work, inclusivity, and build networks in your area. If you’d like to get in touch on how we can support you more, contact us on info@fantasticforfamilies.com.

What will happen to the Fantastic for Families social channels?

We’ll be sharing features from our Fantastic for Families Awards and Directory, and sharing your posts about family arts events – so keep tagging us!

Where can we list our events instead?

We know Fantastic for Families has been a helpful place to market your events, and we’ll be sharing some brilliant alternatives for sharing your fantastic events after the summer holidays.

How can the Campaign continue to support me?

We support peer learning, collaborations and partnerships through our local Family Arts Networks. You can join or start a network, connect with other arts and cultural providers in your area and work together to reach more audiences, share learnings and more.

We have two national accreditations: Family Arts Standards and Age-Friendly Standards

Free to sign up, both offer branding to demonstrate your commitment to your audiences plus toolkits, guidelines and resources to support your work.

You can watch webinar recordings, read a case study, discover toolkits, or explore research findings. There’s lots of resources we’ve created, commissioned or collated to help guide you.

Fantastic for Families Awards are our annual awards celebrating the best in family and age-friendly opportunities across the UK.

This year’s winners will be announced in an online ceremony in November 2022.

You can expand your knowledge through our webinars and biennial Family Arts Conferences and Leadership Symposiums. Whether online or in-person, come together with colleagues from across the arts and cultural sector.
