Arts Orgs in Heritage Open Days

10-13 September 2015 arts meet heritage in this England-wide initiative

Every year on four days in September, the bunting is unfurled and buildings of every age, style and function throw open their doors to the public free of charge. With over 4,600 events and some three million visitors taking part, Heritage Open Days is England’s most popular history festival, unlocking a treasure trove of untold stories.

Heritage Open Days is a brilliant opportunity for artists and arts organisations to reach new audiences and get involved with communities passionate about local architecture and culture. While you’re there, why not make it a teaser for your Family Arts Festival event? From staging exhibitions or performances in a historic setting to creating creative responses to local topography or tales, the possibilities are endless. If you have an idea or would like to work with one of their local partners, please get in touch with the National Trust’s Heritage Open Days team at info@heritageopendays.org.uk. And if you take part, let us know!
